I got into the addictions treatment field in response to my own sobriety from my addiction.  I had been six years into my sobriety and felt a spiritual calling to work in the field as I understood the challenges people face when trying to obtain and maintain sobriety from Substance Abuse.  I have compassion and hope that anyone can have a happy, sober and productive life if they will only do the work.

I have worked in the addictions fields since 1991 in multiple treatment venues.  These include residential, outpatient, drug court, Driving under the Influence Programs and in private practice. I found that mental health issues and substance abuse often can be found together and that individuals often attempt to self-medicate with alcohol and drugs.

I went back to graduate school and completed my Master's Degree in Psychology in 2014.  I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) in the State of Montana.

I chose to go back to school so that I could treat the client holistically  and be able to address all of the issues within my scope of practice.

I also work closely with clients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as trauma and violence are often medicated or escalated with Substance Abuse.  New fields of research are opening up that give the victim and the perpetrator new hope for changing their patterns of thinking and behaving.

My speciality is Dual Diagnosis (Co-Ocurring Disorders) which addresses mental health and substance abuse treatment and education.

Treatment is offered in individual, couples, and group sessions.  I use a variety of techniques including:  talk therapy, CBT, EMDR, Hypnotherapy, Psychoeducation and others.
